Eskom suspended loadshedding on Wednesday morning.
Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena
said the decision follows the successful recovery of generation capacity and
significant progress in replenishing emergency reserves.
The power cuts were implemented on Sunday to stage 6.
Loadshedding was then reduced to Stage 4 before it was
reduced further on Monday.
“Ongoing planned maintenance stands
at six-thousand-660 megawatts, in keeping with its summer maintenance strategy,
which is necessary to prepare for winter and meet licence and regulatory
requirements”.
The company will provide an update
on Friday about the status of the grid, or as soon as any major changes occur.
