Another suspected gang related shooting in Mitchell’s Plain has claimed the life of a 32-year-old man.
Police confirmed that the man was shot and killed in Tafelsig, in the early hours of Thursday. He added that a 13-year-old boy was also injured as he was shot in the right arm, in Cedarberg street.
‘’According to reports an unidentified person came to the
mentioned address, [at 04:00] and called the deceased from outside the wendy
house by his name and when the deceased opened the curtain the suspect started
to shoot at him fatally wounding him. The injured victim was sleeping when he
was shot in the right arm,’’ said Captain F.C Van Wyk, Western Cape police
spokesperson.
The incident comes days after two men, were shot and killed
in the same area. A 30-year-old and 41-year-old were the targets on Suurberg
and Buffelshoek Streets in front of a premises in Buffelshoek Street.
Van Wyk said the pair were standing at the location when an
unidentified man began shooting at them, fatally wounding both in the head. The
motive is believed to be gang-related.
