Two arrested for about R1m worth of tik

Two suspects were arrested in Delft and Bellville respectively on Tuesday after they were caught with nearly R1m worth of drugs.

Police said officers approached a premises believed to be a drug production facility in Delft, whereby they discovered and confiscated 5.3 kg tik with an estimated street value of R 795 000 and arrested a 43-year-old Nigerian man for dealing in drugs and the contravention of the Immigration Act

‘’Further investigation led the police members to an identified premises in Bellville. Upon their arrival a searche ensued which led to the recovery of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of R 135 000,00. They detained a 40 year old Nigerian woman for dealing in drugs and the contravention of the Immigration Act,’’ said Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, Western Cape police spokesperson.

Once charged, the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Bellville Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charges.
