Metro police officials attached to the special operations unit arrested a suspect for the illegal possession of drugs in Brackenfell on Tuesday.
Metro police spokesperson Ruth Solomons said: “At around 2pm, officers on patrol spotted the driver of a white Nissan Tiida jumping a red robot on Frans Conradie Drive. They conducted a traffic stop and sought permission to inspect the vehicle. While interviewing the driver, officers noticed some bulges in his slides and he was asked to remove the shoes. Police officials confiscated 37 packets of cocaine in both flops, with an estimated street value of nearly R17 000”.
Members also booked in a cash amount of more than R3 000.
The suspects were arrested at the Brackenfell police station for further questioning.
The suspect is expected to
appear in court today.
