A man survived a shooting incident after he was shot multiple times in the face.
Police confirmed to Bush Radio News that the incident occurred
on the corners of Stag and Klipspringer Streets, Eastridge, Mitchell’s Plain, on
Friday night.
‘’Mitchells Plain police opened an attempted murder case
for further investigation following a shooting incident on Friday, 30 May 2025
at about 22:30,’’ said Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, Western Cape police
spokesperson.
‘’It is alleged that the 38 year old victim was standing on
the corner of mentioned streets when he was accosted by two masked men who shot
him multiple times in the face and head. The suspects fled the scene on foot
and the victim was transported to a medical facility in a critical condition. No arrests have been made yet,’’ he added.
According to the latest crime statistics, Mitchell’s Plain
is ranked third provincially, and twelfth, nationally, with attempted murder
cases reported. The suburb recorded 48 attempted murder cases between January and
March 2025 (57 counts less than the same period in 2024)
