Approximately 5 000 residents in parts of Khayelitsha were left without electricity on Wednesday.
In a statement, Eskom said this is due to an unplanned outage. Areas affected include Ilitha Park, Graceland, Phakamisa and surrounding areas.
The power utility said that it is unable to say when
electricity will be restored, but said technicians are on site attending to the
fault.
Customers are warned to treat all electrical installations
as live for the full duration of the interruption.
‘’Eskom apologises for any inconvenience caused to its
customers and will endeavour to restore the supply as soon as possible,’’ it
said in a statement.
