A 38-year-old man was arrested on Friday the 20th June 2025 for discharging a firearm in a residential area.
Police responded to gunshots
in Strand Ndzuzo Street.
” The members approached the
area on foot when they heard the gunshots being discharged in close proximity
to them, which resulted in the tactical approached of the police deployment.
They saw an unidentified man running with a firearm in his hand. They
apprehended the man and confiscated a pistol with ammunition which led to the
detention of the 38 year old man for the discharge of a firearm in a
residential area” warrant officer police spokesperson Joseph Swaartbooi.

expected to make a court appearance in the Strand Magistrates’ court on the
mentioned charge.
