Cocaine bust at CT Airport; 4 arrested for cocaine worth millions in Parkwood

A 32-year-old woman will soon appear before the Cape Town Magistrates Court after she was caught with 70 bullets of cocaine at the Cape Town International Airport.

The Hawks in the Western Cape said it received information on Tuesday regarding a female suspect that was allegedly en route to Cape Town from Brazil.

‘’Information was operationalised and the suspect was identified and stopped at the Cape Town International Airport. When searched, cocaine bullets were found in her possession and it was established that she had swallowed other unknown quantity of cocaine. She has since been arrested and sent to a medical facility in an attempt to retrieve the swallowed drugs. In her possession, 70 bullets of cocaine valued at approximately R245 000 were found,’’ said Lieutenant Colonel Siyabulela Vukubi, Hawks Western Cape spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Western Cape police arrested four men in Parkwood on Wednesday, after they were caught with about R500 000 worth of cocaine.

‘’On Wednesday 23 July 2025 at approximately 18:00, police members attached to Operation Shanela II and Grassy Park Crime Prevention Unit arrested four male suspects, aged between 24 and 46 years old, in the Parkwood area on suspicion of dealing in drugs. A large quantity of cocaine valued at approximately R500 000 was confiscated during the operation. The suspects are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates court once formal charges have been laid,’’ said Anelisiwe Manyana, Western Cape police spokesperson.
