Klipfontein was deeply affected by the floods, with many families struggling to
access basic necessities. The aid package has provided a sense of comfort and
reassurance to those affected, helping them cope with the trauma and stressed
caused by the disaster.
The aid distribution
effort has brought some hope to the residents of Klipfontein, helping them
navigate this difficult time.
A portion of an R250 000 donation from Philip Morris International was used to buy the mattresses and blankets, while the food items given to the residents of Klipfontein Mission came from the CANN donation drive, an initiative where employees of the Safety and Security Directorate donated non-perishable goods. The DRMC responded to 681 residential fire incidents between April and June of this year, affecting about 3,500 people. Moreover, they addressed 282 weather-related occurrences that affected over 12,300 buildings and 28,000 people.
