A 49-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison yesterday for contravening the Protection of Constitutional Democracy Against Terrorist and Related Activities Act.
Ferdinand Fortuin made bomb threats last year in November to the Community Service Centre at the Bellville Police Station. He also threatened that explosive devices were placed at the Department of Water and Sanitation, the Transnet Building, and Bellville Taxi Rank.
Fortuin was arrested after the Hawks linked him with a cell phone number which was used in the commission of the offence.
