A 27-year-old man was shot and killed another was left injured following an incident in Beacon Valley, Mitchell’s Plain, on Sunday evening.
Police confirmed that the incident occurred on Atletiek
Street.
‘’ Mitchell’s Plain police registered murder and
attempted murder cases for investigation… in which a 27 year old male was shot
and fatally wounded and a 55 year old male wounded. Police members attended to
the crime scene where they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their
bodies. The 27-year-old victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical
personnel, while the other victim was taken to a medical facility for medical
treatment. The motive for the attack is yet to be established. The suspect/s
fled the scene and are yet to be arrested,’’ said Sergeant Wesley Twigg,
Western Cape police spokesperson.

killed near the railway lines in Lentegeur, on Monday morning
Police believe the motive for the attack could be gang related.
No arrests has been made as yet.
‘’The circumstances surrounding a shooting incident on
Monday morning, 04 August 2025, at about 10:20 near the railway lines, in
Rooikrans Street, Lentegeur, where a 21 year old male was shot and fatally
wounded are under investigation. Police members responded to a complaint of a
shooting and upon arrival on the scene they found the victim with gunshot
wounds to his body. The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical
personnel. Lentegeur detectives are investigating a murder case,’’ said Twigg.
