The City of Cape Town metro police have arrested 4 549 suspects in the past 12 months.
With the help of crime-driven operations, the City of Cape
Town metro police seized 67 stolen vehicles, 71 firearms, 22 751.5 units of
drugs, 50 imitation firearms and 1 150 rounds of ammunition.

attacks last year to 85 attacks this year.
The city’s MMC for Safety and Security, JP Smith, said “the
policing department should see a boost as 700 new members will be joining the
metro police next month”.
