Ford has announced a decision to recall some 2025 and 2026 Ranger Wildtrak, Tremor and Platinum vehicles due to brake pedal issues. The recall affects a total of 5 676 vehicles, which were all made available in 2025.
According to the supplier, drivers of the affected vehicles
may notice a change in pedal feel or travel, with increased pedal effort
required to brake the vehicle due to a loss of the brake boost feature.
‘’The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Stability
Control (ESC), and Brake warning signals will illuminate, and informational
messages will be displayed in the instrument cluster. In addition, there will
be an audible alert. An unexpected loss of brake boost may cause extended
stopping distances, increasing the risk of an accident,’’ said the National Consumer
Commission.
This is the fourth recall by the automotive giant this year. Earlier this month, the American company recalled vehicles over low-pressure fuel pump and airbag fault. In May, Ford recalled some of its vehicles due to a faulty control arm. In July, Ford recalled different of Fords over a serious defect on the left-hand camshaft sprocket on the engine.
Affected consumers are urged to immediately contact the
nearest Ford authorised dealership of these motor vehicles to have the affected
component replaced at no charge.
