Mitchell’s Plain police responded to a stabbing incident at AZ Berman High School in Tafelsig, earlier today.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) said four learners were allegedly stabbed.
Police Segeant Wesley Twigg said “An argument ensued between the suspect and the victims. The learners were taken to a medical facility treatment. The suspect is yet to be arrested. Mitchell’s Plain detectives are investigating an assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm case”.
The Western Cape Department of Education spokesperson Millicent Merton said the Grade 10 learner has been suspended, pending a disciplinary hearing after he allegedly stabbed four boys in his class earlier today.
“The injured learners received medical attention and a social worker provided counselling support to the learners involved in the incident. Ongoing counselling support will also be provided to the learners who witnessed the incident”.
