A Bonteheuwel resident was honoured with the Crime Fighter of the Year Award at Cape Town’s Neighbourhood Watch Awards ceremony yesterday.
Deen Solomons a resident from Bonteheuwel played a vital role in reducing crime, supporting vulnerable families, and empowering local youth. He spent years volunteering on neighbourhood patrols, organising safety awareness workshops, and working closely with law enforcement to identify problem areas.
The MMC for Safety, JP Smith, said “It is heartwarming to see how communities value the efforts of volunteers who devote their time and skills to keeping their neighbourhoods secure".
