A reward of up to R50 000 is being offered by Western Cape police for information on the whereabouts of Akhona Matlose who is sought in a murder case.
‘’Investigation into the death of a 48-year-old woman
indicates that on 30 December 2023 police were summoned to a scene at the
Lingelethu-West policing precinct where the victim was found. She was declared
dead by paramedics on scene. The suspect was arrested on scene and he was
released later,’’ said SAPS in a statement.
Police say a warrant of arrest was issued for the suspect
who is believed to be traveling between George and Knysna daily.
The investigation officer, Captain Wayne Spence urge anyone
with information which could assist police with the successful apprehension and
prosecution of the suspect to come forward. Anyone with information may contact
the investigation officer at the Lingelethu-West Detectives at 021 360 2272 or
082 334 8128. Alternatively, information may be shared via Crime Stop at 08600
10111 or the MySAPS app.
Meanwhile, Grassy Park police are appealing to the public
to assist them in tracing Ashiekah Naidoo who they believe can assist them with
their investigation. Police believe that the 23 year old could be of assistance
in the murder case of Moegammat Yusuf Daniels who was robbed and murdered in
September 2025 while trying to sell his cellphone.
