Western Cape police are probing a triple murder in Philippi East. Police said the incident occurred in Sheffield Road, at the Marikana informal settlement, on Tuesday evening, where the bodies of three men were discovered with gunshot wounds.
‘’At approximately 19:10 on Tuesday, 4 November 2025,
police were called to a crime scene in Sheffield Road, Marikana informal
settlement, where the bodies of three men aged 27, 30 and 38 were discovered
with gunshot wounds. Preliminary reports suggest that the victims were executed
in a cold blooded manner. Detectives attached to the Serious and Violent Crime
Unit have been assigned to the case and are pursuing all possible leads to bring
the perpetrators to justice,’’ said Colonel Andrè Traut, Western Cape police
spokesperson.
Provincial police says it has launched an intensive investigation
into the incident, adding that officers have been intensified in the area to
stabilise the situation and prevent further acts of violence.
‘’The SAPS reiterates its commitment to ensuring that those
responsible for such heinous acts face the full might of the law,’’ said Traut.
