Girl sustains injury after being caught in crossfire in Valhalla Park

A 12-year-old girl was caught in the crossfire when unknown suspects opened fire on a bread delivery vehicle in Valhalla Park, on Saturday afternoon.

In a statement from provincial SAPS, officers attached to Bishop Lavis responded to a shooting on the corner of Matthew and Andrew Streets.

‘’ Bishop Lavis police responded to a complaint of a shooting on Saturday afternoon, 3 January 2026, at about 15:20… According to reports the victim was transported to a medical facility in a private vehicle where she is receiving treatment. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested. A private vehicle was also damaged during the shooting incident,’’ said Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Western Cape police spokesperson.
