Eskom says its technicians are working around the clock to restore electricity supply to several towns across the Western Cape following widespread outages caused by severe weather conditions.
Areas affected include parts of the Cape Metropole, Cape Winelands, Garden Route, Overberg and West Coast districts, where communities have been without power since yesterday.
The power utility says heavy flooding has made it difficult for repair teams to reach damaged electricity infrastructure, slowing down restoration efforts.
Eskom has appealed to residents to remain patient as technicians attend to multiple faults across the province.
The utility says updates will be provided as work progresses and electricity supply is gradually restored to affected areas.
