“Four people in the province are being monitored with caution following a non-exposure link to a confirmed case elsewhere but they are considered extremely low.” Dwayne Evans from the Department of Health and Wellness

The department says Hanta virus does not spread easily between people as it requires very specific exposure. This would particularly be to infected rodents or environments that are contaminated.

Furthermore, Western Cape Health Department teams have protocols in place to ensure no spread in instances of testing.
