Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has advised passengers travelling to and from the Western Cape to expect possible flight delays and cancellations as severe weather continues to affect parts of the province.
According to ACSA, adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain, strong winds and poor visibility, have disrupted normal flight operations at several airports. The company says the weather has created challenging conditions for both arriving and departing flights, leading to delays and changes to flight schedules.
Despite the difficult weather conditions, ACSA has confirmed that both Cape Town International Airport and George Airport remain open and fully operational. Airport management teams are continuing to monitor conditions closely to ensure the safety of passengers, airline crews and airport staff.
Travellers are being urged to remain patient and to allow extra time when making their way to the airports, as weather conditions may also affect road traffic and access routes in some areas.
ACSA has encouraged passengers to regularly check flight statuses through the ACSA Mobile App and to stay in contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding departures, arrivals and possible cancellations.
