In the first incident, officers conducted an operation in Brown’s Farm, Nyanga, where they searched a suspect and found 153 dagga cigarettes in his possession, along with an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be linked to illegal activities. The suspect was immediately arrested at the scene.

In a separate operation in Elsies River, police searched a residential property and discovered a quantity of illegal drugs, including 8 mandrax tablets, 15 half mandrax tablets, and 8 packets of crystal methamphetamine.

Authorities say the coordinated operations form part of ongoing efforts under Operation Prosper to combat drug trafficking and improve safety in communities affected by substance-related crime.

Both suspects are expected to appear in the Athlone and Goodwood Magistrate’s Courts today, where they will face charges related to possession and dealing in illegal substances.
