Bloodstocks are under serious pressure following the inclement weather conditions across the Western Cape recently. Due to the weather conditions, blood service clinics had to extemporarily closed whilst other were cancelled.
As a result of this, Marike
Carlie from the Western Cape Blood Service says blood stock are under pressure,
particularly O positive and O negative blood.
The Western Cape Blood Service
has issued a call out to the public to donate blood as the services running low
on supply
“While collections were
disrupted, patients and hospitals still need blood every single day. So if you
are able to donate now is the time to donate.” Said Carlie
