The Western Cape is still reeling after severe floods and strong winds swept across the province last week, leaving widespread destruction in their wake. Provincial authorities have confirmed that eleven people have lost their lives as a result of the extreme weather.
According to updated reports from the provincial government, the disaster has displaced at least 150,000 residents.
Many communities have been severely impacted, with significant damage to homes, roads, and essential infrastructure.
Emergency services and disaster management teams are said to have been working around the clock to assist affected families, while relief operations continue across multiple regions. Authorities are still assessing the full extent of the damage caused by the floods and storms.
