Cape Town has once again earned global recognition after being named the world's most beautiful city in Time Out's 2026 global survey.
The accolade has been welcomed by the City of Cape Town's Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, James Vos, who says the recognition provides another opportunity to strengthen the city's tourism industry and attract even more international visitors.
Vos says the city will continue investing in targeted marketing campaigns in key international markets to showcase Cape Town as a world-class travel destination. He believes the award will help boost visitor numbers and further cement the city's reputation as one of the world's leading tourism hotspots.
He also highlighted the importance of international tourism to the local economy, saying it supports thousands of businesses and creates employment opportunities across the hospitality, accommodation, transport, and tourism sectors.
The latest recognition adds to Cape Town's growing list of international accolades and is expected to provide a welcome boost to the city's tourism industry as it continues to recover and expand.
