An extensive search is continuing for a 20-year-old man who went missing after reports of a drowning in progress along the coastline near Pacaltsdorp, between Victoria Bay and Herolds Bay.
Emergency services responded to the incident, with NSRI rescue craft joined by a George Fire and Rescue Services JetRIB conducting a sea search. An EMS rescue squad drone unit was also deployed to assist with aerial search operations.
Despite a comprehensive search by sea, air and along the shoreline, no sign of the missing man has been found.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident, while Western Cape Police Diving Services continue with ongoing search efforts.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation and allow emergency services to continue their work as the search enters its next phase.
