Woman shot and killed after brief conversation with unknown gunman

A thirty – one year old woman was shot and killed in Woodstock on Saturday morning, following a conversation with an unknown man.

According to the police, the woman was standing next to a public toilet when the gunman came to speak to her before he shot and left her.

“He then ran towards Victoria Rd and into a minibus. The thirty- one year old was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel,” explained Gwala.

The motive for the attack remains unknown, investigations continue

In an unrelated matter, earlier on in Strandfontein Rd, Lotus River, a thirty two year old man was stabbed.

“According to reports, a 32-year-old male was stabbed during a physical altercation with three unknown males on Saturday morning at about 06:45. He succumbed to his injuries” police spokesperson constable Ndakhe Gwala.

A case of murder was registered for investigation and no arrest has been effected yet.
