A Delft taxi driver escaped unharmed after his vehicle caught fire in Xyris Way, Matroosfontein, on Monday morning while transporting children to a local crèche.
Fortunately, the driver had already dropped off his first
group of children before the incident occurred and was on his way to collect a
second group when the fire broke out.

fire started suddenly, prompting an immediate emergency response.
The driver managed to exit the vehicle safely, and no
injuries were reported.
The City of Cape Town's Fire and Rescue Service responded
swiftly to the scene and quickly brought the blaze under control, preventing
the fire from spreading to nearby properties or vehicles.
The prompt response by firefighters helped ensure the
situation was contained without further incident.
The Matroosfontein Neighbourhood Watch has commended both
emergency services and members of the community for their rapid response.
The organisation said the incident serves as an important
reminder of the value of reporting emergencies without delay and working together
to help keep communities safe.
