Five Arrested in Gugulethu for Alleged Illegal Alcohol Production

 Five people have been arrested in Gugulethu, Cape Town, for allegedly operating an illicit alcohol production operation.

According to police, officers acted on information they received and conducted a search at a house in NY108. During the operation, they found four men and one woman at the property.

Police confiscated a range of items believed to have been used in the illegal production of alcohol, including containers, labels, sealed boxes and production equipment. The seized items are expected to form part of the ongoing investigation.

In a separate incident, police also arrested two suspects in Bishop Lavis for the alleged possession of drugs.

Police spokesperson Thembakazi Mpendukana confirmed both arrests, saying law enforcement continues to target illegal activities across Cape Town as part of ongoing crime prevention efforts.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the identities of the suspects or the quantities of illicit alcohol and drugs involved. Investigations into both cases are continuing.
