In the first incident, Steenberg police are investigating a murder and attempted murder following a shooting in Beethoven Street, Retreat, on Friday night. A 34-year-old man was shot and killed at the scene, while a 15-year-old boy was injured and taken to hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made, and police believe the incident may be gang-related.

In a second shooting in Tafelsig yesterday morning, Mitchell’s Plain police say an adult man was fatally wounded and an adult woman injured when suspects opened fire before fleeing the scene. Both victims were taken to hospital, and the motive for the attack remains under investigation.

In a separate incident in Hanover Park yesterday afternoon, a 74-year-old woman was wounded in Halmans Walk after reportedly being caught in the crossfire during a shootout between rival gangs. She was transported to a medical facility in a private vehicle. An attempted murder case has been opened.
