The City of Cape Town is urging visitors to the Helderberg
Nature Reserve to choose hiking trails that match their fitness and experience
levels.
The city says hikers should avoid difficult trails in bad
weather, hike in groups, carry enough food and water, and be prepared for
emergencies, as strong winds have hit the Western Cape this week.
The reserve offers eight hiking trails, ranging from easy
walks to challenging mountain routes for people who have different capabilities.
Staff regularly inspect the trails and close them when weather conditions make them unsafe.
