A six-year-old foster child who went missing after a school event has been found safe in Nyanga, raising concerns about the monitoring of foster care placements.
The child was discovered two days later, sleeping inside a
classroom. Authorities have since removed the child from the foster home while
investigations continue.
The case has sparked renewed attention on how foster care arrangements are supervised and whether children placed in alternative care are receiving adequate support and protection.

Williams says she later visited the residence and found
other children sleeping on the floor behind couches without mattresses, raising
further concerns about their living conditions.
Authorities are expected to continue investigating the
circumstances surrounding the child’s disappearance, the conditions at the foster
home, and the overall care provided to the children.
Child protection organisations say cases like this
highlight the importance of regular monitoring and swift intervention when
concerns about a child’s safety are raised.
