SASSA Gold Cards No Longer Working

The deadline for SASSA beneficiaries to switch from the old gold card to the new Postbank black card has arrived, with nearly 70,000 beneficiaries still yet to collect their new cards.

SASSA says the old gold cards are no longer operational, and beneficiaries will need to collect their Postbank black cards to access their grants.

Those who missed the deadline can still collect their cards at designated collection sites.

Beneficiaries can dial *120*355# to find their nearest collection point. Cards are available through participating retailers including Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer and Spar.

SASSA says beneficiaries only need their ID to collect the card, and there is no need to return to SASSA afterwards. The new card will work immediately.

Beneficiaries are urged to collect their cards before their September grant payment to avoid difficulties accessing their money.
