Around 50 structures in and around Maanskynkop Street in Tafelsig have been affected after strong winds caused damage to several properties early this morning.
Emergency crews from Mitchells Plain, Bellville and the Incident Management Team were dispatched to the area after reports of damage were received.
Several homes sustained damage, with some roofs reportedly being blown off by the strong winds.
One adult woman was treated at the scene for shock. She declined to be taken to hospital.
Emergency personnel remain on the scene as they continue to monitor the situation and assess the extent of the damage.
Residents in the affected area are urged to remain cautious while emergency crews work at the scene.
