Khayelitsha Police are seeking the assistance of the public to trace the driver of a vehicle involved in an alleged hit and run incident at the weekend.
A Khayelitsha resident, 33 year old Simphiwe Ngesimani, was knocked down by the vehicle and died as a result of injuries sustained .
It is believed that the driver of the vehicle had been travelling on the N2, direction Somerset West, when the deceased and two of his friends crossed the road.
“The vehicle collided with the deceased and refused to stop afterwards in order to determine any injuries. The friends of the deceased were unharmed,’ says Constable Mthokozisi Gama.
The identity of the driver as well as the description of the motor vehicle is unknown at this stage.
