An inquest docket has been opened into the drowning of a 16-year-old boy from Macassar.
The body was found at the Steenbras Dam by police divers.
Kyle Kotze was on a hike with a church group at the Kogelbay Nature Reserve at the time of the incident.
Police spokesperson AndrĂ© Traut said, “A death inquest case docket will be investigated to shed more light into the incident”.
