Officials at the University of Stellenbosch have decided to significantly scale down the activities of student-run charity organisation, Rag.
The university Prim Committee cited financial concerns, as well as an apparent lack of contribution, by Rag, to student success.
Current Rag chairperson Marelise van der Merwe says they were not consulted about the decision, which has effectively shut them down.
Van der Merwe added that Rag played a vital role in the Stellenbosch community.
