Lombaard is believed to be a neighbour and close friend with Joshlin's mother, Raquel "Kelly" Smith, who was also charged with her daughter's disappearance, alongside the mother's boyfriend, and an acquaintance.

All four will again appear in court on 13 May. They face charges of kidnapping and human trafficking.

Monday marks five weeks since the girl was reported missing. The search for Joshlin continues.
