A suspected gang-related shooting in Mitchell’s Plain has left one person dead and five others injured. The incident which occurred in Bicycle Crescent in Beacon Valley, on Tuesday afternoon, are being probed by police.

A police spokesperson said a 35-year-old man
was shot and fatally wounded and five others aged between 12 and 44 injured.
‘’According to reports SAPS members responded
to a shooting incident at the mentioned address and on arrival found one male
with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was declared deceased on the
scene by medical personnel,’’ said Captain F.C Van Wyk, Western Cape police
spokesperson.
‘’During further investigation it was
established that the deceased and victims were sitting on the pavement under a
tree when a white VW Polo, stopped next to them and four occupants got out and
started shooting at them,’’ he added.
Van Wyk said the suspects fled the scene in the VW Polo and are yet to be arrested.
