An urgent meeting was held with the Lentegeur
SAPS management, on Monday, to address the recent flare-up in gang violence in
the area.
Three men were left injured in a suspected gang
related shooting, last week. The incident occurred in Maartblom Street. Shooting
incidents were also reported in Papierblom field and Salvia, as well as in Rooikrans
street.
Ward councillor, Avron Plaatjies called on the Western
Cape police Commissioner, Thembisile Patekile, to urgently bolster Lentegeur
Police Station with more policing resources to prevent further escalations of
violence.
Had a meeting with @SAPoliceService Lentegeur and CPF. The flare up of gang violence and blatant shootings cannot continue.

I have written to @ParliamentofRSA @IanCameron23 to convene a Portfolio committee in Mitchell’s Plain on gang violence as it affects many communities. pic.twitter.com/0UoRh4DNcp
