An accident this morning at the Golden Highway and Main Road
intersection south of Johannesburg
has left at lease fifteen people injured.
This is after two taxis collided into each
other after one of the taxis apparently skipped a red traffic light.
ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring
said ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and the two red taxis lying in the middle
of the intersection. Pieces of the taxis were spread all across the scene.
Meiring said on inspection
paramedics found at least fifteen people sitting in the taxi as well as around
in the pavement. Paramedics set up a staging area and started treating patients
for the injuries.
“Once treated, the patients were
transported to various hospitals for further medical treatment” Meiring added.
