Serbian assassin Dobrosav Gavric is set to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates court today to apply for bail.
A Hawks investigator set to testify in the case said Gavric is a potential flight risk and should not be granted bail.
Gavric was underworld boss Cyril Beeka’s driver when he was shot and killed in Bellville last year.
The Serbian fugitive is wanted by his home country for three murders and he is also being investigated by the Hawks for illegally entering South Africa.
Western Cape Deputy Director for Public Prosecutions David Damerell said that Gavric faces multiple criminal charges in SA.
He also added that Gavric is facing various domestic charges based on his false identification.
Damerell also agrees that the Serbian fugitive is a flight risk.
