A 35-year-old woman died at
Port Edward main beach after she drowned.
National Sea Rescue Institute
Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said it is alleged that the woman went for a lunch
time dip in the ocean with colleagues but was swept out to sea by strong rip
currents.
Lambinon said on arrival on
scene NSRI found a local man, a 58-year-old guest house owner conducting CPR on
the woman.
He had managed to rescue her
from the water but despite the extensive CPR efforts by the NSRI paramedics and
private ambulance services the female was declared dead on scene” Lambinon
added.
