Fifteen people injured in a taxi collision south of Johannesburg

An accident this morning at the Golden Highway and Main Road intersection south of Johannesburg has left at lease fifteen people injured.

This is after two taxis collided into each other after one of the taxis apparently skipped a red traffic light.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and the two red taxis lying in the middle of the intersection. Pieces of the taxis were spread all across the scene.

Meiring said on inspection paramedics found at least fifteen people sitting in the taxi as well as around in the pavement. Paramedics set up a staging area and started treating patients for the injuries.

“Once treated, the patients were transported to various hospitals for further medical treatment” Meiring added.
