Reward increase for information on slain Makhaza activist, Myolisi Magibisela

Western Cape police have increased the reward amount for information that will lead to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of Myolisi Magibisela.

The community leader and activist from Makhaza, was shot and killed in June 2025. Magibisela served as the ANC’s Ward 96 convener and the Khayelitsha zonal chairperson of the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO).

Police say Magibisela was actively involved in efforts to address the prevention of Extortion and Criminal activities in the area.

An initial R50 000 was offered but SAPS has since increased that amount by R10 000.
