According to the police’s Novela Potelwa, a vehicle pulled up in front of a house in Neptune Lane in Ocean View last Wednesday, whereby the occupants of the vehicle went inside the house and started shooting at individuals inside the premises.

”Five men between the ages of 20 and 50 were as a result killed while a sixth person who was transported to a medical facility after sustaining gunshot wounds, was confirmed as having died upon arrival in hospital.”

The motive for the shooting is suspected to be gang related

A 20-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday, and police confirmed that a second suspect, a 29-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday.

The Western Cape’s Police Oversight & Community Safety MEC, Reagen Allen, welcomed the arrest.

''It is pleasant to know that a second suspect has been arrested... The SAPS is showing the urgency that we require with all cases. The court proceedings must now run its course.’’

‘’Those that choose to engage in a life of crime must face the consequences. Our communities should be free of these unscrupulous characters. I am looking forward to more arrests,’’ he added
