Police arrested two suspectas for the murder of a Steenberg teen whose body was found dumped on an open field in the area a week ago.
A 17-year-old Tashneecka Prins was last seen a day prior to her corpse being discovered early on Sunday morning near the intersection of Symphony and Sand Olive Road.
The dead girl’s family could
not believe that the body found on the field was their child’s missing teen due
to her facial wounds.
After the deceased grandmother,
Anne Gordon recognized the body at the site, she asked people to come forward
with any information. Gordon told investigators that her granddaughter was found
lying face-down in the sand and her body was covered with two dirty mats.
“She had a huge gash on her
forehead and her mouth, her face was almost unrecognisable with all the blood,
it looked like she was assaulted but her clothing was the giveaway,” Gordon
said.
The family asks anyone with information
to come forward.
