SASSA Gold Card will not expire in December, assures Postbank

Postbank has assured social grant beneficiaries that their South Africa Social Security Agency (SASSA) gold cards will continue to work in December.

This as rumors circulated that the SASSA Gold Cards will expire in December and recipients will not receive their social grants.

‘’This is not true; SASSA Gold Cards will not expire in December 2023. We assure all SASSA beneficiaries that they will be paid their SASSA grants this December and beyond with their SASSA Gold Cards,’’ said Bongani Diako, Postbank spokesperson.

Diako urged beneficiaries to be wary of disinformation regarding the expiration of the gold cards.

‘’SASSA beneficiaries are urged to rest easy, stay at home and ignore anyone that calls them to any venues under the pretext that the SASSA Gold Cards are expired and they should change their cards.

‘’Social grants beneficiaries should not be misled into changing their SASSA Gold Cards so that they can continue enjoying numerous transaction benefits, including free withdrawals inside retail shops, free 3-month statements and balance inquiries. Beneficiaries are empowered because they get their grant money in full and save on transaction costs,’’ added Bongani Diako, Postbank spokesperson.
