Meanwhile, a 39-year-old man was shot and killed at the Town Centre, also in Mitchells Plain, earlier this week.

The police’s Joseph Swartbooi said the incident could be gang-related

‘’Mitchells Plain responded to a complaint on Wednesday 03 January 2024. Upon their arrival near to the Town Centre at around 17:50, they found the body of a 39-year-old man who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body,’’ said Warrant Officer, Joseph Swartbooi.

‘’The victim was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. The unknown suspects fled the scene and they are yet to be arrested. The possibility that the motive for this attack can be gang related is not excluded. Mitchells Plain police are investigating a case of murder,’’ he added.
