The Community Policing Forum in Phillipi, Cape Town has called for Minister Cele to intervene in the fight against violence in the area.
The call follows the murder of CPF member Nosipho Sopuwa.
Sopuwa was shot dead at her home on Sunday last week.
Sopuwa's death follows the murder of Gugulethu CPF deputy
chairperson, Lulama Dinginto, who was gunned down at her home in December.
The CPF in Phillipi believes its members are being targeted
for speaking out against criminals.
Cele promised to deploy police officers in the area
two-weeks ago to address crime.
"This one should be a crime intelligence driven
situation. We are appealing that we should be immediately attended to, we can't
have more lives lost especially the crime fighters” said Nyanga CPF's Dumisani
Qwebe.
Qwebe added that some CPF members were already pulling out
of the forum in fear of being killed.
